What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is the latest skin rejuvenating technology that provides deep fractional, radiofrequency treatment to deliver skin, tissue, and collagen remodeling while improving the skin’s appearance and reducing irregularities. This fractional skin treatment stimulates collagen production of the underlying layers of the dermis. By targeting the deeper layers of the skin, tissues of the face and body can be remodeled to reveal a more radiant, youthful appearance. We’re excited to offer our patients a non-surgical option as opposed to surgical for facial/body tightening.

Depending on each client’s skincare goal, the Morpheus8 can treat the face including the under eye area, cheeks, jawline, and neck. We can also treat body areas such as the abdomen, above the knees, buttocks, and décolleté. Safe for skin types I-VI (other skin types we consider on a case by case basis).
Thistle offers three different Morpheus8 tips to specifically target the different layers of the skin: the Resurfacing tip, Morpheus8 Face, and Morpheus8 Body.
Morpheus8 Resurfacing: The Morpheus8 Resurfacing tip includes 24 thin gold coated microneedles and penetrate up to 0.75mm that target the epidermal (top layer of the skin) at a fixed depth to stimulate facial rejuvenation on the superficial layer of the skin.
Morpheus8 Face: The Morpheus8 Face tip includes 24 thin gold coated microneedles that penetrate up to 5mm and target both the epidermis (top layer) and dermis (middle layer) through fractional coagulation and sub-necrotic bulk heating (in other words fat burning).
Morpheus8 Body: The Morpheus8 Body tip includes 40 thin gold coated microneedles that penetrate up to 8mm and uses Burst mode RF Vulcanization technology to automatically deploy bipolar RF energy to multi-level depths in a single cycle.
How does Radio Frequency Microneedling work?
Morpheus8 combines microneedling and radio frequency using one device to stimulate collagen production. This treatment targets different layers of the skin at once, from the hypodermis (deepest layer), to the dermis (middle layer), to the epidermis (outermost layer) to deliver clinically proven RF energy to multiple treatment depths.
The Morpheus8 technology works with the principle that in order to achieve tightening of loose, sagging skin, the body’s new collagen creation needs to be stimulated by neocollagenesis (new collagen production). The unique patented design allows for the uniform distribution of RF energy through bipolar arrays of microneedle electrodes that results in localized heating and coagulation of the tissue that’s in direct contact with the microneedles.
What can I expect during my treatment?
After our team of Aesthetic Nurses determined that you’re a good fit for this treatment during your consultation, we go over what to avoid prior/post treatment. Keeping patient comfort in mind, we start off with a topical numbing cream that is left on for about 45 min to an hour to let it work it’s magic and to ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible. After the numbing cream takes effect, we always start off with a test area to see how the client tolerates it (most patients report mild discomfort, but feel that it is tolerable for the duration of the treatment). Then, we proceed making 1-4 passes to the skin on the treated areas.
What’s my downtime?
Morpheus8 is a non-invasive procedure meaning without the need for surgical intervention and is minimal to no downtime. Depending on the intensity level that we treat you and how well your skin/body responds to the treatment, clients typically leave our studio looking sunburnt which may last 24-48 hours followed by 3-5 days of mild swelling and discomfort. Clients are able to resume normal activities right away but to be mindful of post-procedure redness and swelling. Resuming makeup application recommended after 24 hours.
Post-Treatment Aftercare
Your skin will feel tight and warm post-treatment. To make your post-treatment experience as comfortable as possible, our team will provide specific aftercare instructions to you. A gentle moisturizer and an SPF 50+ is highly recommended post-treatment. We also offer an array of medical grade skincare products that are post-treatment safe to minimize the risk of complications post treatment.
Treatment Frequency
Although most clients do see results after the first treatment, a series of 3 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart is encouraged for optimal results. After you’ve completed the series, a yearly maintenance treatment to top off the results of the series is recommended.
