FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
You've Got Questions, We've Got Answers
GENERAL
What is your cancellation and reschedule policy?
We understand that life happens, and sometimes schedules change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask for 24-48 hours’ notice so we can offer your spot to someone on our waitlist. Cancellations made within 24 hours, or missed appointments, will incur a $100 fee out of respect for our providers’ time. A credit card is required to reserve your appointment, though it will only be charged in the event of a late cancellation or no-show. By booking with us, you’re agreeing to this policy and helping us keep our schedule running smoothly.
Should I leave gratuity after my appointment?
Our Aesthetic Nurse Practitioners do not accept gratuity. If you’re visiting for skincare treatments (such as facials) with our estheticians, gratuity is appreciated but not expected. The very best “tip” you can give us is leaving us a Google review, referring us to your family or friends, and allowing us the chance to continually provide you with personalized care.
How experienced are your providers?
Every provider at Thistle is a licensed medical professional or esthetician with advanced training in aesthetic care. Our Aesthetic Nurse Practitioners hold Master’s degrees in Nursing, and our team stays at the forefront of the industry through ongoing education, hands-on trainings, national conferences, and certifications. We believe your treatments should always be guided by a deep understanding of science and artistry, and our experience reflects that.
What skin types do you treat?
Our team is rigorously trained to treat all skin types and tones. Every treatment plan is tailored to your skin’s unique needs.
Do you offer all non-surgical treatments?
We specialize in a wide range of non-surgical treatments including wrinkle relaxers, dermal fillers, regenerative medicine (PRF, EZGel, Sculptra, microneedling), and advanced skin treatments like chemical peels, IPL photofacials, and medical-grade facials. We do not perform surgical procedures, but our non-surgical approach is designed to provide natural, impactful results without going under the knife.
Do you accept insurance?
No, we do not accept insurance for aesthetic services as these are considered elective treatments.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and cash. We do not currently accept HSA/FSA cards, unless there is a VISA logo on the card.
How do I start my first appointment with Thistle?
Your skincare journey always starts with a consultation with an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner or skin analysis with a master esthetician/esthetician. During this visit, we will listen to your goals, assess your skin, and map out a personalized treatment plan. This initial visit ensures your experience is tailored specifically to you, with clear recommendations and timelines.
Are results permanent?
No aesthetic treatment is permanent. While we can strive for the absolute best aesthetic care for our clients, results require consistency, a custom treatment plan, and an at-home maintenance routine.
WRINKLE RELAXERS
What are wrinkle relaxers?
There are 5 FDA approved neuromodulators on the market, Thistle offers three of them: Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify. They are used to treat the lines that form due to repeated muscle movement. When the underlying muscle is relaxed, the skin smooths, creating a more youthful appearance. You may hear us refer to them as wrinkle relaxers.
When do I see results?
At Thistle, we always treat conservatively. We can always add more but we can’t take away! To make sure you’re absolutely in love with your results, we always have new clients come in for a 2 week follow up appointment (or sprinkle as we like to call it) to perfect your dosage.
What is a sprinkle appointment?
At Thistle, we always treat conservatively. We can always add more but we can’t take away! To make sure you’re absolutely in love with your results, we always have new clients come in for a 2 week follow up appointment (or a ‘sprinkle’ as we like to call it) to perfect your dosage.
How long do wrinkle relaxers last?
Results last about 3 to 4 months depending on metabolism and lifestyle.
Are there side effects to receiving wrinkle relaxer injections?
Headaches, small bumps at the injection site, swelling, and minor bruising are uncommon but may occur after injections.
Will my face look “frozen”?
Our goal at Thistle is to provide natural-looking results. We focus on conservative dosing so that the lines are softened but your features still look refreshed, not overdone. For the clients who like a more “frozen” appearance, we can do that too!
How does Botox pricing work?
Pricing is per unit received. Your total is based on anatomy, muscle strength, and goals. During a consultation with an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner, we will map out a plan and provide an estimate of the recommended units.
Can I get this treatment while I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. Unfortunately, this treatment is not suitable for expecting or breastfeeding mommas.
Will I bruise?
There is always a possibility of bruising whenever a needle is introduced to the skin. We always suggest being mindful when you’re booking your wrinkle relaxer appointment. Our recommendation is at least 2 weeks before an upcoming event.
Is there downtime after the procedure?
There is virtually no downtime after Botox injections. You may notice small bumps at the injection sites that resemble bee stings, but they usually subside after about 30 minutes.
