Aubry, owner and MSN, FNP-C, CANS
The heartbeat of Thistle, the backbone and brains- Aubry, MSN, FNP-C is a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner and the owner of Thistle Medical Aesthetics. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mary Washington where she graduated with Highest Distinction and earned her Masters in Nursing degree at George Mason University, graduating summa cum laude. She is a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist, or CANS, accredited by the Plastic Surgical Certification Board. She first began her nursing career as an Army Nurse at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. on a medical-surgical unit caring for wounded soldiers and veterans, and is proud to have served her country. After her time as an army nurse, she switched fields and started her journey in aesthetics in 2005 and has had the honor of boosting confidence as a nurse injector for over 18 years!
Before becoming a nurse, she attended the Art Institute of Portland, which cultivated her artistic approach to medical aesthetics. Thistle was her creative outlet and the perfect blend of her passion for art, hosting, and aesthetics while incorporating a sense of community and gathering (plus a sprinkle of fun) into her business. She loves boosting confidence in women through enhancing features naturally. It was a dream of Aubry’s to bring a different approach to the aesthetics industry. Let’s be honest, medical treatments and injectables are often associated with rich housewives of Beverly Hills: unattainable and out-of-reach for the “normal” everyday girl. However, skincare and aesthetics doesn’t have to be intimidating and unattainable. That’s where Thistle Medical Aesthetics changes the narrative. Showing you that a friendly, girl-next-door approach to aesthetics in the Northern Virginia area is totally possible!
Born in Germany to American parents, Aubry moved to the US at a young age. She spent her childhood under the pines of the pacific northwest in Oregon, before moving to rural Nebraska where she spent her younger days. Country gal at heart, Aubry planted her roots in Virginia where the country meets the city, around the early 2000’s. She found a sense of home in the nook of the Stafford countryside, where her chickens and Highland cows roam free and graze on the farm. When they are not tending to their farm together, Aubry and her husband enjoy a change of atmosphere with date nights out on the town where she appreciates the architecture of Downtown Fredericksburg at local eateries. With a love for art, design, cuisine, and traveling, her hobbies are a melting pot that reflect that, including hiking trips with her daughter, training her Deutsch-Drahthaar hunting dog, Blaze, designing floral arrangements, and tending to her farm. A dream of hers is to visit the rolling hills of Scotland to trace her Scottish heritage and have a glass of red wine in the Italian countryside.
Savannah, LME
Meet your Estie-Bestie, Savannah! She is Thistle’s skincare goddess and go-to guru for all things skincare! She is a Licensed Master Aesthetician and continues to expand her education any opportunity she can. Learning from the best skincare experts and attending in-person and virtual trainings, Savannah applies her vast knowledge of skincare to her craft and is always looking for new innovative products to incorporate into her treatments. Obsessed with the science of products and their ingredients, Savannah specializes in creating focused skincare routines unique to your skin’s needs. Her dedication to her clients doesn’t end with the appointment. Beyond your appointment, Savannah makes herself available via Instagram for questions, concerns, and progress- or to share a laugh together over a funny TikTok video.
Outside of her role as a Master Esthetician at Thistle, she takes on her other very serious role of dog-mom to Bleu, a “pomapoo” puppy. On the weekend, she loves strolling through a Sunday farmer’s market, enjoying live-music at the nearest brewery or spending time with family. She never misses a chance to reapply her SPF and will make sure everyone around her does the same! When she’s not socializing, you can find her nestled into a fantasy book or rewatching the Harry Potter series for the hundredth time. If you’re looking for a tattoo artist or need ink inspiration, she’s the gal to ask!
Viktoriya
Thistle's creative visionary, marketing mogul and lively studio manager, Viktoriya, is one of the first friendly faces to greet you with a smile as you enter Thistle. When she’s not assisting clients and recommending skincare products you can find her behind the camera curating Thistle’s Instagram page or browsing Pinterest finding inspiration for Thistle’s next event. Inspired at a young age by her mother’s love for hosting events, Viktoriya found joy in building a sense of community, especially among women. She pursued this passion of event-planning, styling, and digital content curation at VCU where she earned her B.S. in Marketing Communications and Analytics. She looks forward to continuing her education in digital marketing and website design and bringing a modern and stylish, yet personable, approach to aesthetics!
Born in Ukraine, Viktoriya’s family moved to the US when she was just four years old. She is fluent in both Ukrainian and English, and is currently learning Spanish. Very family-oriented, some of her favorite childhood memories include making blueberry filled perogies with her great grandmother. With a passion for skincare, fashion, and traveling- outside of Thistle, Viktoriya can be found enjoying bottomless brunches with her besties, sipping on sangria at a Virginia winery, baking with family, or weightlifting at the gym. She’s been slowly checking off her bucket list travel destinations which include visiting the quaint island of Crete, Greece, the beautiful coast of Naples, Italy, and is looking forward to her upcoming visit to Spain. If she could be anywhere in the world, she’d choose to be on a boat somewhere in the Mediterranean. Food connoisseur and dessert enthusiast: homemade tiramisu, cheesecake, and pizza (with fig, prosciutto, arugula and a sprinkle of honey) are a few of her favorites.
Lindsay, MSN, FNP-C
Meet Lindsay, MSN, FNP-C! Lindsay is one of our Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioners and aesthetic injectors. Her excitement in bringing a smile to everyone’s face, positive outlook on life, and willingness to always learn makes her an invaluable addition to the Thistle team. Her gleaming bedside manner and personability assists in developing long term relationships with her clients on their skincare journey. Before aesthetics, Lindsay began her nursing career in the Emergency Department at Mary Washington Hospital in 2006. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech and Drexel University, she furthered her career in Labor and Delivery and Pediatrics and then pursued further education, earning her a Master of Nursing degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2018. She is always eager to learn the latest industry technique, read up on skincare ingredients, and bring fun into her everyday routine.
A boy mom of three (ages 7, 9, 11), Lindsay juggles sporting responsibilities with her loving husband as all three of her boys play baseball. Lindsay’s typical weekend may look like the following: attending all three of her boy’s baseball games, hitting the slopes snowboarding with her family in Colorado, West Virginia, Montana, or Utah, or relaxing at her family’s beach house in the Outer Banks. You can catch her at 5 in the morning HIIT training with her girl friends/neighbors or 5 in the afternoon setting the ball during her adult rec league volleyball team. She is always down to join you for sushi, Thai, (Bangkok Cafe is one of her favorites) or share a savory charcuterie board with you. An act of self-care she enjoys doing in her free-time is catering to her “greenish” thumb by tending to her plants and vegetable garden. P.S. She knows about every lyric to any song you can think of so if you’re playing jeopardy or trivia and need to “phone a friend”- you know who to call!
Makenzie
Whether you speak to her over the phone or face-to-face, most of you know our Front Office Coordinator, Makenzie! Makenzie loves building relationships with each new face she meets and strives to bring your check-in/check-out interaction to life. Passionate about photography, cosmetics, styling, and staying trendy, she is currently completing her Bachelor’s of Business with a concentration in Marketing. She brings a background of over 5 years in client relations and plans to chase her content-creation dreams in the coming years as a social media curator.
Always down for a road-trip, turn-and-burn, or extended vacay, Makenzie spends her free time exploring new cities. For a quick getaway with her girl friends, Nashville and Charleston are her go-tos (she is happy to give you any recommendations!) When she is not traveling, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, singing her heart out at country concerts, or rallying at sporting events. For a social recharge, her ideal night in is binge-watching 90’s rom coms and indulging in Chinese take-out.
Angela, MSN, FNP-C
Lover of aesthetics and one of Thistle’s Nurse Practitioners, meet Angela, MSN, FNP-C, or Angie! Subtlety is her specialty, as Angie strives to create noticeable but natural results for her clients. Angie is an experienced aesthetic injector with a passion for empowering women through maintaining and enhancing their natural beauty to achieve their aesthetic goals. Angie obtained her undergraduate nursing degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and her advanced Nurse Practitioner degree at George Washington University. During her dermatology rotation in NP school, she discovered her passion for skincare and aesthetics. She has been a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner since 2015 and began her NP career practicing emergency medicine and developing invaluable critical thinking skills during her tenure. A couple years into practicing emergency medicine, her passion for skincare and aesthetics began to resurface. Pursuing her passion, she made the dive back into medical aesthetics where she practices her combined love of art and science.
When she’s not boosting confidence at Thistle, she can be found participating in the latest fashion trends, spending time with her husband and three littles on the weekend, and working on her fitness (like Fergie once said). A Fredericksburg native, she loves the Downtown Fredericksburg area. Some of her “FXBG faves” include walking the canal path, strolling the VCR trail, and dining at local eateries such as La Petit, Foode, and Fahrenheit. Finding joy in the small things, her greatest yet simple pleasures in life are playing tennis matches with her Hubby, watching documentaries or anything binge-worthy on Netflix (Survivor is an all-time favorite of hers), and listening to all kinds of music.
Maria, MSN, FNP-C
Introducing Maria, MSN, FNP-C, one of Thistle’s Nurse Practitioners and bubbliest of personalities. Maria is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who began her nursing career back in 2011. After several years of experience as an RN in Neuro/Stroke, Med/Surg, Labor & Delivery and Pediatric IMC, Maria completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Chamberlain University. She began her NP career in 2017 and spent the next 3 years in Cardiology. In 2020, she transitioned to Urgent Care Medicine where she developed a love for all things procedural. With a passion to continue learning and also embracing a love for art and beauty, she transitioned into aesthetics. Her desire to help women look and feel the best, confident versions of themselves has evolved into a deep passion!
Originally from Ukraine, Maria calls Massachusetts home. She is trilingual, fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, and English. Chasing her degree, she traded her New England lifestyle for the Florida sunshine. She married her college sweetheart and their romance took their next adventure to Virginia. Kids came shortly after, she is now a boy mom of two- ages 3 and almost 2. On the weekend, Maria spends time with her boys and snuggled up on the couch with her hubby watching crime, action, comedy, and suspense shows. A lover of sunshine, warm weather, pumpkin spice and all things nice, she loves to go out for a cup of coffee, brunch with her friends, and winery dates. Her non-negotiable acts of self-care include catering to her green thumb and CrossFit strength training.

Meet Emma, our bubbly esthetician! Emma earned her esthetician's license from Kenneth Shuler in Charleston, SC. Passionate and knowledgeable about working with all skin types, Emma excels in curating personalized skincare routines and treatments to address individual needs. Her fascination with the constantly evolving field of skincare began post-high school, igniting her commitment to providing personalized care and tailored solutions for various skin types and concerns.
Emma's journey into aesthetics began after high school when she discovered the dynamic and ever-evolving field of skincare. Her eagerness to learn and grow in the industry led her to work closely with Savannah, our Master Esthetician, to expand her knowledge and techniques. Driven by a desire to specialize in treating acne, sensitive, and eczema-prone skin, Emma dedicates herself to continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends. Emma's unwavering dedication to excellence in skincare treatments, paired with her commitment to ongoing education, makes her a valuable resource for clients seeking skincare advice and solutions.
Outside of Thistle, Emma enjoys sunny motorcycle rides and shredding the slopes on colder days. When she's not out adventuring, you can find her cozying up with a good book and savoring some mini M&Ms for a delightful treat.
