At Thistle Medical Aesthetics, we take pride in offering only the most advanced, clinically proven, and results driven treatments to our clients. Before any technology becomes part of our service menu, it goes through a rigorous review process. Our team dedicates months of research, hands-on testing, and converses with trusted industry leaders across the country. We do not bring anything into our studio unless it aligns with our high standards for safety, science, and effective results.

When we evaluated the Solaria CO2 fractional resurfacing laser, the feedback was unanimous! The technology is exceptional, the results are transformative, and the safety standards align beautifully with our philosophy. Our entire Nurse Practitioner team trained extensively, experienced the treatment firsthand, and considered how it could elevate outcomes for our patients. We are absolutely thrilled to offer a treatment that we felt was missing in our studio!
What Is the Solaria CO2 Fractional Laser?
Ever wished you could press the reset button on your skin? We’re talking about softening wrinkles, fading scars, improving hyperpigmentation, tightening laxity, and evening out rough texture. This FDA-cleared advanced CO2 fractional skin resurfacing treatment is designed for anyone wanting dramatic skin renewal without the long, uncomfortable recovery that older CO2 lasers were known for. By removing microscopic layers of damaged skin and stimulating fresh collagen remodeling underneath, the Solaria laser helps reveal smoother, firmer, clearer skin.
The Solaria CO2 laser targets:
– Fine lines and wrinkles
– Acne scars or surgical scars
– Sun damage and pigmentation
– Crepey, lax skin
– Uneven tone & texture
How Does Solaria Work?
The Solaria fractional CO2 laser sends microscopic beams of energy into the skin, creating tiny controlled injuries called microchannels.
Your body responds by:
- Shedding old, damaged skin
- Stimulating new collagen and elastin production
- Rebuilding smoother, tighter skin
Is Solaria CO2 Laser Treatment Painful?
The treatment itself can be described as warm and tingly yet very tolerable, like a sunburn that lasts a few minutes. Before treatment, we apply a topical numbing cream so you stay comfortable throughout your session. Afterward, your skin may feel warm and red for a few hours which is normal and expected.
How Many Solaria Treatments Do I Need?
This depends on your specific goals, but you may expect to see a meaningful improvement after just one session.
For deeper wrinkles, acne scarring, collagen production or significant sun damage, your provider may recommend a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart. Pairing Solaria with Morpheus8 RF Microneedling is a combination therapy we love as well! While Solaria is targeting the surface of the skin, Morpheus is stimulating deeper collagen production and tissue remodeling deep within the skin layers.
What Is the Recovery Time?
Your recovery time may vary as we can tailor the treatment settings based on your skin concerns and desired goals. A general rule of thumb is up to 2 weeks of ‘social downtime’ as this is not a treatment to do a few days before a big event! During your consultation, we will discuss your concerns and goals and tailor the treatment to you.

When Will I See Results?
You’ll notice an initial glow once your skin is back to baseline. This is usually around 10 to 14 days post-treatment but individual results may vary. As your skin heals, you’ll notice a smoother texture, more even tone, and a “lit from within” glow. The best part happens behind the scenes as results continue to improve over 6 months, revealing firmer, younger-looking skin!
What to Expect at Your Solaria Appointment
Your treatment begins with a consultation where we review your medical history, your specific concerns, and we will create a custom treatment plan!
During your procedure, your provider will apply a topical numbing cream to ensure comfort during treatment. The Solaria CO2 laser is passed over the treatment areas to deliver precise beams of energy to create microscopic channels in your skin. These controlled micro-injuries stimulate your body’s natural repair process. After your treatment, you may experience redness, swelling, and mild peeling. Detailed aftercare instructions will be provided which include avoiding sun exposure, using gentle skincare, and applying SPF daily.
Why We Love Solaria CO2 Laser Resurfacing
We only offer treatments we believe in. The treatments on our service menu are those that we’ve vetted, tested, experienced, and know will deliver meaningful results. Every addition to our practice reflects our dedication to patient safety, natural outcomes, and long-term skin health.
