Let this be your hottest summer yet. Our summer mantra is looking and FEELING our very best. Let’s cut the negative self-talk, self-doubt, and feelings of imposter syndrome and take part in the #hotgirlsummer mentality: loving yourself and being confidently you! Here are a few skincare reminders for the summer.
Drink plenty of water. Not only does water keep you hydrated but also helps your skin glow!
Protect your skinvestment! Sun damage is the #1 sign of aging. It’s better to be proactive than reactive when it comes to the sun. Protecting your skin now prevents further sun damage, skin cancer, signs of aging, and saves you $$$ on corrective aesthetic treatments in the future.
In the winter we correct and in the summer we protect! Summer is not the best time for intense active ingredients, such as retinols, as they may be too harsh and sensitizing for your skin!
Switch to a lighter moisturizer. Save your thicker and richer moisturizers for the winter as they may be too heavy during the hotter months. We love our AquaPorin Hydrating Cream by Circadia for the summer!
Postpone photosensitive treatments for the fall and winter months! Our Lumecca IPL Photofacial and chemical peels are on hold during the summer from Memorial Day until after Labor Day.
Protect your skin. Wear SPF daily and always reapply throughout the day!
Wear hats (the bigger the better), sunglasses, and stay in the shade as much as you can.
Opt in for a sunless at-home tanner. It’s 2023, we’re using SPF (and reapplying throughout the day), booking spray tans, and adding glow drops for a little bronze to the skin now! Leave the tanning beds and tanning oils where they belong…in the early 2000s.
